5-Speed transfer cases rejoice! If you have a 25-spline or late 18-spline transfer case then this is disaster prevention at its best!! This is a stainless steel transfer case housing that replaces the factory main housing around the gears, and serves as a much stronger casing helping to prevent explosive disasters. Having a stronger transfer case assembly is definitely helpful for racing as the transfer case is one of the "weak links" in the drivetrain - and is especially recommended if you are running an upgraded or recently replaced output shaft.

This transfer case works with 5-speed 25-spline and the later style 18-spline units. How to tell? If the transfer case has the "Getrag" stamped on the side facing AND there is a "sight plug" there. The earlier cases only had 2 plugs - the fill plug on the front and the drain plug on the bottom. The later ones added the "sight plug" on the side panel - this steel housing works with these cases. See the picture below and look for the circled plug.
